Our client a franchised dealership, are looking for an experienced Technician to join their busy Service Department.

Location: Sutton Coldfield / West Midlands

Salary: £23,000 – £30,000

Joining a busy workshop seeing on average 25 retail jobs per day with a team of 7 Technician’s.

It is a bonus workshop on productivity on hours sold against attended.

Job role

Based in a busy workshop environment you will be required to undertake all levels of car repairs as well as completing standard servicing and fault analysis

You must be capable of following the repair process from fault analysis to completion

You may be required to undertake PDI work as well as road testing vehicles

Be qualified to City & Guilds level 3 in Light Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.

You must be a fully qualified vehicle technician with a proven track record of quality workmanship and possess good diagnostic skills.

Having an ATA qualification and MOT license would be of benefit

Excellent communication skills are essential to the role in order to confidently explain the repair process and then book the customer vehicles into the Service department.

You must effectively sell Service products identifying and maximising upsell opportunities to meet individual and department targets including making customer service bookings.

Previous experience as a service advisor in the motor trade is essential to this role.

* Experience as an MOT tester would be advantageous

I am working closely with a well-established vehicle rental company who are looking to bring on board a field based individual to sell long term vehicle rental options to small – medium sized clients.

They specialise in light commercial vehicles from standard vans through to specialised box vehicles, minibuses etc.

The types of rental options they are looking to push are long term rentals of about 12months and above rather than daily hire.

The position is a self-managed, field based role covering Southampton across to Portsmouth with a little flexibility to go further afield if required.

Due to the company being so established they already have an extremely large customer base so the individual who secures this position will have a good grounding to start with.

On offer is a basic salary of up to £30,000 depending on your experience and a healthy commission structure on top. Another individual in this same role in a different area is consistently earning £45,000PA.

A fully expensed company car, laptop and phone is included with the role as well as 20 days holiday (plus bank holidays) sick pay, pension.
