Waste Recycling Area Supervisor

Salary: Negotiable DOE

Location: Brighton / East Sussex / South East / Hove

The Role

* As the Household Waste Recycling Sites Area Supervisor, you will supervise 6 of the 12 Household Waste Recycling Sites (HWRS) in East Sussex and Brighton and Hove and ensure all HWRS comply with permits, planning conditions, and the company’s QHSE and Business Management System policies and procedures.
* You will provide Certificate of Technical Competence (COTC) cover at all HWRS, ensure all HWRS are operated safely for members of the public, visitors, staff and contractors at all times and ensure all HWRS are operated in accordance with Veolia’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and Business Management System.
* You will oversee all sites to ensure they adhere to ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHAS18001 standards and that material at the HWRS are recycled and recovered as much as possible.

Skills & Experience

* The successful candidate will possess a full UK Driving Licence and have supervisory experience within a similar background. Possession of a WAMITAB COTC Certificate and IOSH Managing Safely Certificate is essential to the role, however, training can be provided.
* Previous waste and recycling experience are considered beneficial. You will also need to have experience of supervising multiple sites and complex workloads.
* Some weekend work is required for this role (This is a fixed rota with alternate weekends on with set days off in the week) so the successful candidate must have the ability to be flexible.
