The Role

[HGV Service Manager]

* Undertake comprehensive and preventative maintenance and repair standards
* Correct fault diagnosis to ensure replacement parts are fitted correctly and warranty claims are in line with terms
* Working within the company safe systems of work and ensuring that quality and performance are maintained at all times
* Dealing professionally and proficiently with all enquiries and completing job cards and service sheets in a timely manner
* Undertake diagnostic analysis where appropriate

Skills & Experience

* Applicants should be suitably qualified and have experience in heavy commercial vehicle maintenance, repair and diagnostic
* Have a practical understanding of using information technology and systems to deliver objectives
* Be safety aware and committed to a right-first-time ethos
* Experience of working in a fast paced and demanding customer environment, with a flexible approach towards meeting the needs of the customer
* Enthusiastic, with the ability to work on your own initiative, remaining focused and consistent and a ‘can do’ attitude
* Demonstrates commercial awareness and has a good understanding and experience of a busy workshop operating environment

What’s on offer?

* An Excellent base salary of between £30,000 – £40,000 doe

The Role

Requirements

* Level 3 qualified or equivalent and ideally with Senior / Master Technician status.

Hours:

* Monday to Friday 0800-1730 with an hour for lunch.

* Overview and collate service dept KPIs such as:

* Vehicle compliance register
* Issuing of order numbers and authorising work to vehicles on contracts.
* Needs the ability to understand work being carried out and determine if necessary, priced correctly etc also to identify repeat repairs and ensure if due to workshop error then contracts do not stand cost
* Review budget spend per vehicle (as set up in contract) and review spend against budget and manage accordingly, warn where contracts in distress (i.e. cost greater than income) and assist in managing
* Setting up contracts on the system. Dealing with suppliers/repairers – both our own workshops and external suppliers, and issue order numbers and deal with purchase ledger invoices
* Issuing sales ledger invoices for vehicles on contract

Experience required:

* Strong administrative background
* Technical knowledge of commercial vehicles strongly preferred
* Commercial experience of running vehicles strongly preferred (e.g. fleet manager etc)
* Ideally you will come from a commercial vehicle dealership background or within the automotive trade.
* Ability to work alone and part of a team and to ensure get results
